What Our Customers Say

“You sit yourself here and we had to track someone down for menus after sitting for quite a while. After we decided, we had to track someone down to be able to order. She was upset she was having to still work as her shift was supposed to be over and made it like it was our fault. We had to repeat our orders multiple times. We had to wait over an hour for our food and something was wrong with all the orders. My daughter can't have shrimp and ordered chicken. They gave her shrimp. I ordered steak with twice baked potatoes. I got a very rare, cold steak with mashed potatoes instead of twice baked. They forgot my son's potatoes. There was no silverware so we had to track those down. There also was no ketchup or salt. We got some and they were both empty. It was a very frustrating dinner. I couldn't even eat my steak because it was so raw and so cold. We had been planning to get dessert but just left hungry instead. We won't be back.”

“We ate here 3 times during our vacation. We were first drawn to the fried key lime pie, which was amazing! But the grouper/conch sandwiches and fried seafood baskets were tasty too. The staff were very welcoming and the service was great. We also met the owner. Her hospitality and dedication did not go unnoticed. Such a sweet, family oriented, and Christian based cafe.”

“Stopped in on a weekday night and was pleasantly impressed.
Relaxed atmosphere, island-inspired comfort food done right, and a menu that doesn’t play it safe. The cheesesteak is flavorful and satisfying, but the fried key lime pie is the real reason you’ll be thinking about this place later. A solid choice for casual dining with a Florida Keys vibe.

Large selection of fresh fish prepared fresh to your specifications, and of course as the name implies, conch and lots of conch!

Fried Key Lime Pie
This is the standout. Crispy on the outside, warm and creamy on the inside, with that signature Key lime tang cutting through the richness. The contrast between the crunchy shell and the tart, smooth filling is spot-on. It’s decadent without being cloying, and easily a “must-order” dessert if you’re there.”

“The food was overall good ! I made sure to try the famous conch sandwich, and it was just as light, crispy, and delicious as I remembered from five years ago. Others enjoyed the snapper and Maui sandwiches, which had a great flavor with Cajun but cheese and bread on it was little overpowering the fish flavor . We did get a side New England clam chowder and it tough and chewy with no flavor at all. The overall sandwich was good, but I’ve had better.”

“Stopped here for a quick bite of breakfast before doing some site seeing.

We were immediately acknowledged upon entry and promptly seated with the server coming to our table right after we were seated. I ordered the Cuban coffee which was really good. For those that have had Cuban coffee, you know it's strong, straight up espresso, so I had to put one cream and one sugar in it to tone it down. Still, it's exactly how that type of coffee is supposed to be.

For breakfast I ordered two pancakes, eggs, bacon and grits. Pretty simple order, but a few issues. The pancakes aren't homemade. It either came from a box or premixed batter. I know fresh pancakes and these weren't it. These pancakes were a little tough. They shouldn't be difficult to cut with a knife, but these were, and a little on the chewy side. My bacon was the thin cut brand. I would like to see the thick cut. And I don't know if you can tell by the photo, but one piece was shriveled and burnt. Not good at all. The grits were good. Nice and creamy. My gripe is the cheese was Kraft singles. Cheese grits should have freshly shredded cheddar cheese, not singles. The eggs were fluffy and had a good taste. No problems there.

My wife had the strip steak, French toast, and eggs. She ordered the steak medium, and it came to the table as she ordered it, but it was chewy and poorly seasoned. I took a bite for confirmation and it was indeed chewy, almost rubbery, telling me they didn't take the time to cook it properly, or the meat is low grade, lean and not tenderized. The French toast, like my pancakes, wasn't cooked properly and/or of low quality. The edges were tough and the center of the bread was chewy.

I certainly wasn't expecting 5 Star quality out this restaurant, but at least better quality than IHOP or Denny's. I gave it 3 stars only because of the service, the attentive server, the coffee, and how quick the food got to us. The place has potential, but I highly doubt we will be coming back here.”

“The atmosphere is chill and relaxed. The waitress was friendly and nice. The food was amazing - even though the potatoes were not hot. I had the southern fried steak breakfast and my husband had the French toast plate. Our eggs were cooked exactly as we liked and everything tasted fresh. We also got a cinnamon bun and it had a nice sugary crust on the bottom that made it just a bit chewy but in a good way. If we come back we will definitely eat here again.”

“Cracked Conch was an awesome stop on the drive back to the resort. The Philly cheesesteak was one of the best I’ve had, packed with flavor and cooked just right. Prices were really good, especially for the quality of the food. It was a great, quiet spot to stop, relax, and enjoy a solid meal away from the crowds. Definitely a place worth stopping at while traveling through the Keys.”

“What a great place. Old time diner feel and the food was VERY good. The fried key lime pie was AMAZING. would definitely recommend giving this place a try. Our server was a very nice and interesting lady (can't remember her name). She lives on a sail boat and sails all over. She's clearly fearless.”
